The Duke of Devonshire has released information and has allowed a sneak preview of the home that has just been refurbished.
He said “I would consider giving up his title if Labour removed all hereditary peers from the House of Lords under new proposals”.
“It’s a long way in the future so it’s pretty hypothetical. I think the point really is that Chatsworth is the focus now more than the people who live here”.
He is the 12th Duke since his father passed away, and has been in charge of it since 2004.
